my 2nd favorite holiday is fast approaching...

i'm a big kid now.

Well, it's a holiday for me, at least. My 21st birthday is lurking, and the celebration weekend has officially begun! Kate & Will are married and I stayed up last night/early this morning to watch the royal festivities (which I enjoyed far too much). I even started thinking in a British accent. Out of hand.
One of my closest friends, Julie, is 21 today (happy birthday!) and tomorrow she is coming up to visit so we can enjoy all of the birthday fun together :)
Come birthday time each year, I get really excited... like it borders on obnoxious, I'll admit. I just love everything about birthdays, even when they aren't my own. I started getting all antsy when the first birthday care package arrived a few days ago, and a birthday bouquet followed soon after (white roses and gerber daisies to boot! thanks fam!)... It's just all so fun.
I typically get really nostalgic on the Eve of my birthday, and my first instinct is to grab the old photo albums and flip through them all. For hours I sit there and just reminisce on the good old days, and how funny my outfits were. Being a few hundred miles from home this year will kind of hinder my tradition, but I'll make do and with the pictures on my dorm wall, I suppose!
Even though I'm away from home for this special birthday, I'm lucky to have some amazing friends here that I get to celebrate with.. thank goodness for them :) Classes are officially over, headed to Boulder on Wednesday to celebrate my friend's graduation, then summer is here a couple weeks after that! So far, this birthday is lookin good.

April madness

wah.
If you could capture stress in a picture, this would be it.

Excuse #56789: I'm a busy bee this month. Here's what my poor little planner looks like, in case you want visual proof.
Until my calendar starts to look a little less like highlighter and multicolored pens threw up everywhere, I'm taking a break. 60 day challenge will be back shortly :)
Adiooos & happy April!

"give me heart and give me soul"

Day 13

A picture of your favorite band or artist.

Denver concert 2008.

Hands down my favorite band ever: Coldplay. There's something seriously special about their music that sets them apart from other popular bands and the rest of my itunes library. The Coldplay style is distinct and recognizable, but always changing with every new album (might I add, very anxiously awaiting the next one). I saw them in concert for the first time during my freshman year of high school and pretty much fell head over heels in love with Chris & company. I could (and I do) listen to their songs over and over again, without getting remotely tired of them... in fact, I think the more I listen, the more I appreciate. It's good stuff, I'm telling you. I'm no music pro, but my ears know what they like, and they really like Coldplay. A lot.

happiest place on earth.

WOOO, it's officially Spring Break :) Which means I'm home sweet home, and back to giving this little blog some much needed attention.

Day 12

A picture of something you love.

Tea partying in my Minnie Mouse ears.

I love Disneyland. That's almost an understatement. I had an annual pass during my senior year of high school, so my friend Julie and I were there ALL of the time. Breaks, after school, weekends, you name it. We mastered the lines, faked birthdays for free stuff (such rebels), and memorized where the cameras were on different rides so we could plan poses accordingly... straight up Disney pros. I went back to dland this past winter break for the first time in years and it was the best day. It's just as fun and magical as when I was a kid. Pretty sure if I could, I'd buy real estate on Main Street.

"fish are friends, not food"

woops... well I'm back from my tiny little challenge break.
blame it on the midterms.

Day 11

A picture of something you hate.

I found this picture by Googling "fishies"... I would.

I'm sure I hate plenty of things, but honestly couldn't think of anything remotely interesting. So here it is in all of it's boring glory: I hate seafood. Fish, crab, shrimp, sushi, all of the above. I'm fine with sea creatures as long as they're in an aquarium or a movie (Finding Nemo!) or something harmless like that... but just not on my plate, thanks.

Aren't you glad I'm back? So I can entertain you with these super fun posts? HA, not. Sorry this one was so lackluster, but there's just not that much to say about my distaste for fishy foods. Not much to say except BLEH. k bye :)

my crazies in crime.

Day 10
A picture of the people you do the most strange things with.

Love.

Some visual proof of the strangeness.

Atchlynn and Lowen, how do I even begin to describe these little nuggets of joy? Every time we're together we bounce off the walls like 5 year olds on Pixie Stix and FunDip, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Our friendship could be described by a collection of random shenanigans and a whole lot of silly... the three of us even have our own accent/speech impediment. I don't know if it gets much stranger than that? We're definitely not afraid to be ourselves around each other, which often results in madness. The good kind. :) And if it's true what they say about laughter making you live longer, then these guys are my own personal fountain of youth. I LOVE YOU GUYS, so much. Thanks for supplying the crazy and always making me smile.
